Immaculata

Daily Life

Spiritual growth doesn’t happen by accident. It is something that must be worked at each and every day. Here at Immaculata High we recognize the importance, and necessity of working our Catholic Faith into the daily life of our school.

  • Each day, our staff gathers for morning prayer
  • All individual homerooms begin their day in prayer, led by either a teacher or student
  • Religious Studies is compulsory as a course, and equal in importance to the other
    subjects all students study
  • A schedule is being finalized to ensure that each of the priests in the Deanery are able to visit one of the grades at least twice a semester to present one of the following: a general discussion of various topics, a prepared talk on a particular topic, or to celebrate a teaching Mass in our chapel.
  • We provide as much support as we can to aid in the growth of each individual family’s at-home Faith Life
  • All classes take turns planning monthly School Liturgies and assist directly in the celebration of the Mass
  • Twice a year, during Advent and Lent, the staff and students gather at St. Charles Garnier Parish for penitential services offered by all of the available priests in the area.
  • There are dedicated student and staff retreats over the course of the school year
  • Ash Wednesday and Catholic Schools Week also see Masses of celebration in our school
  • The Bishop of Nelson celebrates Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception with us each December
  • The Bishop of Nelson celebrates our graduation Mass each year

Making the Father, Son and Holy Spirit a part of our lives, and the lives of students each day is one of the most important jobs we have at Immaculata High School. As most young people grow and their days get busier it is extremely important to teach them ways to make room for Christ in their lives, and hearts, everyday.
