Facilities
Built in 1995, Immaculata has a capacity to educate 350 students each year. The fully modern facility has:
- 8 acres of field housing a rugby/soccer pitch, softball field and space for future beach volleyball courts.
- 2 fenced tennis courts and 2 outdoor basketball courts which are available for student and family use.
- 4 of the 14 classrooms supported with SMART Board technology. This new technology enhances the educational experience for the students. All classrooms are equipped with FM sound amplification to enhance the auditory needs of all students.
- a Chapel which provides a quiet refuge for hectic days. The history of “Catholicism in the Okanagan” is depicted in the design of the stained glass windows accenting the room.
- a gymnasium proudly displaying the historical and more recent successes of the various sports teams through provincial banners and local pennants. The teams are supported with modern equipment and a well-equipped weight room. We have hosted 5 provincial championships since the school was built.
- a computer lab with 28 Windows platform computer stations with Internet access.
- in addition to the numerous volumes of fiction, non-fiction and reference materials, the library has 6 computer terminals for on-line research.
- 2 science labs which are equipped with apparatus that supports a hands-on approach to science education.
- an art studio complete with a kiln and printing press providing challenging opportunities for the one, two and three-dimensional artist.
- a music room which hosts our ever growing concert and jazz bands.
- a cafeteria where students can purchase a hot meal for lunch.
