Immaculata

Leadership & Service

Immaculata High School is all about teaching our students to put their best effort forward in all they do. Usually, in a school setting, people mainly think of this in terms of academics and perhaps sports. These are indeed integral to Immaculata but certainly not the end of it. We see our students beyond the textbooks and the gym floor. We see them as valuable individuals with a host of gifts and talents. It is our hope that these gifts and talents can be brought out in all our students so that they grow into the knowledge that they can individually make an impact on the world in all that they do. This ultimately creates young people who see themselves as leaders and instills in them the desire to use their skills and talents to give back to the community that has nurtured them.

  • Our students are required to commit to a minimum of 30 hours of general community service each academic year. (Most far exceed this commitment by following their own hearts and giving many more hours than expected.)
  • Regular participation in the St. Vincent de Paul Society
  • Annual participation in the 30 Hour Fast
  • Annual participation and fund raising for Mexico Missions
  • Each year a select group of students commit to a week away from home to build two houses for destitute families in Mexico through the Mexico Mission Group.
  • Our students work for social justice through the Global Opportunities Club
  • Our students visit and engage in a variety of activities with elderly shut-ins
  • Our students support their local parishes by volunteering at church functions and serving in youth ministries.
  • Immaculata is blessed to have a very supportive parent community that is quick to volunteer their own time and energies to support our school wherever and whenever they are most needed, providing an example that is truly hard to beat
  • Participation in the Mayor’s Youth Forum

Many compliments come our school’s way each year as our students, through their many activities, proudly display their Immaculata colours, whether it’s through their uniforms, dress-up clothes or simply from the way that they carry themselves as they participate in the community. Students from Immaculata High are hard to miss.

Most importantly of all, our young people carry these attitudes and skills learned with them long after graduation. We know this by the sheer number of alumni who frequently drop in to visit or from those that publicly acknowledge Immaculata High as contributing to the successes they experienced in their lives. Without a doubt, choosing a Catholic Education at Immaculata High School makes a difference.
